Rhonda Kraeber

​Rhonda Shelton Kraeber has practiced in all areas of employment law, including wrongful termination and discrimination and harassment litigation, since 1991. Rhonda counsels employers and employees on all aspects of the employer-employee relationship, including compliance with the many state and federal laws that apply in the employment context, and drafts, reviews, and negotiates all types of employment-related agreements such as severance agreements, employment contracts, and confidentiality agreements. Rhonda has also practiced general commercial litigation, including real estate disputes, contract issues, and corporate control disputes, and is licensed to practice in both California and Oregon.

Rhonda has acted as Judge Pro Tem in Contra Costa County Superior Court and as a neutral arbitrator for such organizations as Kaiser Permanente. She has lectured on legal matters to a variety of organizations including various Chambers of Commerce and human resources-focused groups, and has appeared as a panelist on programs sponsored by Lorman Education Services. Rhonda has also published a variety of employment-related articles in various groups' publications, including articles for the Central Valley Human Resource Management Association and the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce.

Rhonda has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 35 years and attended the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. Prior to beginning her law practice, she held various management positions with Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Hilton Hotels.

Karen Bowen

Karen Bowen has been practicing law since 2000 in the areas of civil litigation, employment law, business law, and energy law. She focuses primarily on employment matters, including wrongful termination, wage and hour issues, discrimination, and harassment, and on advising employers on the ever-changing landscape of California employment law. She also drafts and analyzes employment contracts, severance agreements, confidentiality agreements, and employee handbooks.

Karen was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and moved to southern California to attend UCLA, graduating Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. After working in television marketing and production, she attended law school at the University of Notre Dame. Karen was an editor of the Notre Dame Law Review, spent a year studying abroad in London, and graduated Magna Cum Laude in the top 10% of her class. Karen started her legal career at the worldwide firm White & Case in its Los Angeles and San Francisco offices, but is now enjoying a smaller office environment where she can foster close relationships with her clients and be a strong advocate for their needs.

Lora Vail French

Lora Vail French is a senior litigation attorney with more than 20 years’ experience. Lora’s practice encompasses all aspects of civil litigation in federal and state courts, with significant experience in employment law, business litigation, medical malpractice, and catastrophic injury cases. Her robust trial experience and extensive background in handling all pre-trial aspects of litigation provide her with the tools and experience necessary to efficiently and effectively represent the interests of our clients. Prior to joining Kraeber Law she defended exclusively corporate clients in civil suits.

Lora is a life-long resident of California. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Cum Laude from the University of California, Riverside with a dual BA degree in Political Science and Law and Society. She then attended law school at the University of San Francisco graduating Cum Laude and Order of the Coif. Over the years, Lora has been a member of the Defense Research Institute, Association of Defense Council of Northern California, and American Inns of Court. Lora is admitted to practice in all courts in the State of California as well as the Northern and Eastern United States District Courts and the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Sandee Sandbrink

Sandee Sandbrink is a hard-working, enthusiastic advocate for her clients facing some of the most difficult problems of their lives – those involving their families. Sandee rolls up her sleeves and dives headfirst into her clients’ stressful and oftentimes overwhelming personal catastrophes. While zealous in representing her clients’ rights, Sandee is also compassionate and heartfelt; her clients find it easy to share with her some of the most intimate aspects of their lives.

​​Additionally, Sandee enjoys considerable experience in personal injury lawsuits and works zealously on behalf of individuals injured in motor vehicle and other types of accidents.

Sandee is originally from Great Neck, New York. She attended the University of Maryland in College Park where she earned her dual BA in Political Science and Criminology and Criminal Justice. Thereafter, Sandee moved across the country to Sacramento, California and attended law school at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. While at McGeorge School of Law, Sandee was a member of the student-faculty curriculum committee and worked as a certified law clerk for a Sacramento Family Law firm. She earned her JD from McGeorge School of Law, graduating within the top quarter of her class.

Stephanie DeFonte

​​Stephanie DeFonte has been a civil law litigator since 2000. She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants and her clients have included corporations, individuals, and small businesses throughout the Bay Area and Central Valley of California. Stephanie's varied experience includes premises liability, personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, and a variety of general civil litigation matters, and she brings valuable and unique experience and perspective to her current practice.

Stephanie is originally from Southern California. She attended the University of California at Berkeley wherein she earned her bachelor's degree in Political Science in 1996. Thereafter, Stephanie returned to Southern California and attended law school at Loyola Law School. While at Loyola Law School, Stephanie was an editor at the International and Comparative Law Review. She has been a valued member of the Kraeber Law Office team since 2012.
